636935925732000000The City of San Carlos is a General Law City that holds its elections during the month of November in even-numbered years. We have six elected officers – five Council Members and one City Treasurer. Each seat has a term of four years. The Mayor and Vice-Mayor are appointed by the City Council for a one-year term in December.

2024 General Municipal Election 

The City of San Carlos will hold a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 for the election of the following officers:

  • Two (2) Council members for a term of four years; and
  • One (1) City Treasurer for a term of for years

The filing period for nomination papers opens Monday, July 15, 2024. The last date and time for the submission of nomination papers is Friday, August 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m., except, that in the event an incumbent does not file nomination papers by that date and time, the period is extended to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024 to non-incumbent candidates.
