The Sustainability Division implements the Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Plan and other sustainability related programs. It also works to develop and manage plans, projects, and programs that comply with State regulations and achieve the stated environmental goals of the City Council and community.
Climate Action
The Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Plan sets the goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in San Carlos 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2050 relative to 1990 levels and identifies strategies to achieve those targets. In addition, the CMAP recognizes the hazards created by climate change and identifies strategies that support climate adaptation and resilience.
