About the Youth Advisory Council
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a group of volunteer middle school and high school students appointed by the City Council. The YAC’s role is to advise the Parks & Recreation Department and the Youth Center staff on activities, events and programs to meet the needs of our students. The YAC strengthens the image of community for our young people in San Carlos.
- Foster a greater involvement of youth in municipal government and city affairs
- Plan and participate in community service activities which benefit the community of San Carlos
- Work as a team to address issues relating to youth in the community
- Assist in the planning, promoting, and implementing of programs and services for youth
Looking to help families during the COVID-19 health crisis? The San Carlos Youth Advisory Council is hosting a virtual Diaper Drive. We are in need of diapers and wipes in original packaging - all sizes welcome. All diapers and wipes collected will be donated to One Life Counseling Center. How to Donate: Donate online via Amazon. Our Amazon Wish List is stocked with different diaper and wipe options. Select One Life Counseling (1033 Laurel Street, San Carlos, CA 94070) as the shipping location so items ship directly to the donation center. If you have questions, please contact Caitlyn Matoso at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Youth Advisory Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the San Carlos Youth Center, 1001 Chestnut St., San Carlos.
