Update: As part of the San Mateo County Health Officer's updated Order, effective May 4, 2020, all construction projects can resume, provided they comply with the Construction Project Safety Protocols issued as part of the Order. (These protocols replace the COVID-19 Construction Field Safety Guidelines applicable to the Prior Order).
Service Counter Hours
The Building Division accepts building permit applications Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or by appointment. City Hall is closed until further notice due to COVID-19 response.
At this time we will begin to issue approved permits. Please email the building Division at email@example.com to make arrangements to submit final payment and outstanding paperwork for permit issuance. You will be contacted and instructed on how to proceed. Be sure to include the project address and permit number in your email.
We are still processing new permit applications electronically. Contact the Building Division, at b firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss submitting a new permit application.
Construction Noise Hours
Monday through Friday (8 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Saturdays and Sundays (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.).
San Carlos City Manager issued an emergency order limiting construction hours. Effective immediately, construction hours are: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Construction hours include set up and securing of the site.
Construction work on Sunday is prohibited.
No construction noise-related activities are allowed on the following holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Presidents Day
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- Veterans Day
