1119 Industrial Way - Digital Billboard

Description:

The project includes the construction of a new double-sided digital billboard at 1119 Industrial Road with a total height of 55'. The billboard displays would be 14’ tall by 48’ wide in a “V” configuration and located 41’ above the ground. The project also includes the removal of an existing billboard at 239 Old County Road.

1-2 Circle Star Way

   

Description:

Amend Ordinance 1230, which restricts the direction of egress from Circle Star Plaza on Industrial Road, to reconfigure the traffic signal at Industrial Road and Circle Star Way/G Street to allow left turns out of the Circle Star Plaza. Cut-through traffic onto G Street from the Plaza would be restricted by a concrete median island.

On Nov. 25, 2013 the City Council approved the Planned Development Plan (PD Plan). This Plan includes two separate but related projects described as follows:

  • A transit-oriented, mixed-use development located on 6.26 acres that consists of eight new buildings. That includes multiple-family dwelling units in Buildings 1 through 6, and commercial space located in Buildings 6, 7 and 8, a public plaza in front of the San Carlos Historic Depot, and related parking, driveways, landscaping and utilities. A total of 202 new multiple-family rental units with parking, driveways, landscaping and utilities will be constructed in six three-story buildings, and two two-story commercial buildings located just north and south of the existing Historic Depot will provide 25,800 square feet of new commercial space.
  • A multi-modal transit center (new parking lot for the San Carlos Caltrain station) including a commuter parking lot and landscaping on 4.27 acres.

Landmark Hotel

The Planning Commission approved the project plans on July 6, 2015 and the City Council issued its approval of the project at its July 27, 2015 meeting. The project is currently under construction.

The hotel development includes the construction of a four-story, upscale, extended-stay hotel. The hotel will include 204 guest rooms with surface parking and site landscaping. On-site hotel amenities include a lobby, outdoor patio areas with a pool and sport court, fitness area and laundry center, limited food service and a meeting room. All guest rooms will include individual kitchens.

Construction Hours: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturdays, no work on Sundays or holidays. Grading and dirt haul is limited to Monday through Friday only.

The City approved an application for a new Class A office complex on Industrial Road at the corner of Bransten Road. The project includes demolition of the existing industrial buildings and construction of two new office buildings, landscaping, outdoor amenity space and a parking structure.

 

The office buildings are six stories and include a total of approximately 528,520 square feet of floor area. The parking structure will have approximately 1,510 vehicle parking spaces over six levels; three levels will be underground, one at grade and two above-grade. The project also includes 151 short-term and 76 long-term bicycle parking spaces. The landscaping and amenity space is approximately two acres and includes 150 new trees.

The project includes the demolition of the existing single-family home and construction of a four-story mixed-use development with 18 residential units and one commercial unit. The property recently sold to a new owner.  A follow-up notice will be sent to neighbors and posted on this page prior to the start of activity at this site.

 

The Planning Commission approved this project on October 5, 2015. Demolition is expected to begin in Fall 2017.

1336 Arroyo Ave.

The sanctuary building located at the corner of Arroyo Avenue and Elm Street has been demolished. The existing community assembly building located in the approximate center of the existing parcel will remain. It includes offices, meeting space and a childcare center and is referred to as Mahany Hall.

 

The property has been subdivided to create four lots: one lot for community assembly use (church); and three residential lots near the corner of Arroyo Avenue and Elm Street for development of single-family homes. Construction of two new buildings on the community assembly lot is underway. The first is a new sanctuary. The second is community space, offices and a parsonage housing unit on the second floor.

 

Construction Hours: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend work is allowed only with advance permission from the Community Development Director.

1091 Industrial Road – Hilton Garden Inn

The proposed project includes the demolition of the existing commercial building and construction of a new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel on the 1.6 acre site located at 1091 Industrial Road. The project consists of a seven-story hotel with 162 guest rooms and a four-level parking structure for both vehicular and bicycle parking. The project includes on-site guest amenities and landscaping.  

The Planning Commission approved the project on  May 15, 2017.

 

An Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration were prepared to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of the proposed hotel project in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Initial Study concludes that the proposed project would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment with implementation of mitigation measures.

The approved development includes a 34-unit condominium complex within a four-story building with underground parking and associated site and landscape improvements. Excavation, the lower garage slab, and the grade-level podium are complete. The current project completion date is slated for early 2019.

The hotel will include 104 guest rooms, with below-grade parking and site landscaping. On-site hotel amenities include a lobby, enclosed pool, fitness center and limited guest food service. The Planning Commission approved Design Review, Conditional Use Permit and grading and dirt haul for a new hotel development at its July 17, 2017 meeting.
